I’m really disappointed by how much this clinic has changed. I used to have a positive impression of this practice, but after my recent experience, I won’t be returning. I brought in my elderly dog with some significant health concerns. Because the clinic wasn’t able to perform the surgery she may need, I was essentially told I should take her elsewhere for her care. At the same time, they tried to sell me additional expensive vaccines even though she had recently received her core vaccines. It felt like they were more interested in services they could charge for than actually helping me figure out what was going on with my dog. The exam itself was also upsetting. The vet suddenly clapped extremely loudly directly behind my dog’s head as a “hearing test,” with absolutely no warning to me. It scared my dog badly and startled me too. A simple heads-up before deliberately frightening an already nervous, elderly dog would have been appreciated. I was also frustrated by how they handled her anxiety. I was never told before the appointment that she needed to be given gabapentin in advance in order to be properly examined. Once we were already there, I was told that I hadn’t given her enough gabapentin and that they couldn’t really evaluate her as a result. If medication was a requirement for the visit, that should have been clearly communicated to me beforehand rather than brought up after we had already arrived. They also specifically asked me to arrive early for my appointment, only to have me sit in my car for about 20 minutes waiting for someone to come out. On another visit to pick up a prescription, the front desk staff member I dealt with was unnecessarily rude and condescending. Overall, this no longer feels like the clinic I remember. My experience was that there was plenty of emphasis on vaccines, testing, and expensive services, but very little of the warmth, patience, and genuine care that used to make me trust this practice. When you’re bringing in an elderly dog who is already scared and vulnerable, compassion matters just as much as the services you can sell. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel that here.
