Took our Lhasa Apso Shiro for shots, including one for arthritis. Reception, Nurses and Doctor all friendly and kind. We’ve been going here for 20+ years.

So I don't know what the hell was going on today but it's unacceptable. I've been bringing my Rottweiler here since he was a puppy. Today I was greeted outside before even checking in with a chair and a muzzles, which he only gets at injections because he is reactive and at the time of injection ONLY and a soft muzzle at that, not because he's aggressive "because big dogs wanna be an alpha" which Dr. schlongdinger didn't seem to understand and still believes the science proving the Alpha dog theory wrong. My dog does not stalk the neighborhood looking for the biggest dog to fight because guess what he's had training since he got his first shots and is socialized. I wasn't told while making the appointment that a different MALE provider would be seeing Archer. Archer has never barked, bit, or lunged at another dog let alone a member of staff but today everyone was silent and treating my dog like he has murdered someone. I'm told all the other dogs are caged, cool because archer loves other dogs but whatever do what you have to. After being left to put two different type of muzzles on myself which I have no clue how to do because he's NEVER been muzzled in the 4 years I've brought him here, I'm then left in a room with no one wanting to come in unless he is doubled muzzled still with no explanation. A staff member updates his chart and then again I'm told to make sure both muzzles are on. Now the huge problem, three staff members, including Dr. Schlongdinger rush into the room and start bum rushing my dog into the door of the already small room, I even have to ask what they are trying to do. Apparently trying to get him to face me, how about greeting him first? But no, as the appointment progressed I'm being told repeatedly the same three things from Dr. Schlongdinger, he needs to be neutered, trained, and muzzled on walks and at home for him to get used to it for everyone's safety, like a murderer. Excuse me but no, I'm sorry my dog is hyper because I broke my foot and haven't been able to socialize him for 9 months, he was scheduled to be neutered last year but we had to make an emergency move, his nails are long because he isn't on pavement everyday and I proceed to try to tell this "doctor" this and I'm getting visibly upset because some things are simply out of my control, like breaking a foot. Still he continues because what he has to say is so important that upsetting people who have asked you to stop is "rude". Not the point of me not wanting to be lectured basic dog care. Once Mr. Schlongdinger asked me how I talk to my children, which I informed him I have none to his surprise, I ended the appointment. Why should me or my dog be subjected to this treatment at a place we are usually welcomed on my dime? This apparently offended this doctor so much he added at the end my 107lb Rottweiler needs to lose 10lbs. A place that is usually filled with other pets and laughter was sterile and quiet today. I did come back to question Dr. Schlongdinger why he kept pressing the issue when I politely asked him to move on. His response was that I was rude for interrupting his lecture. If you can't handle questions it's best you don't assume you have all the answers and learn to be a little less misogynistic when an African-American female who doesn't have kids and doesn't need your unsolicited advice has to end the whole appointment to further prevent the situation from obviously escalating. Get a grip and some bedside manners when you work in a vet that is 99% female. Also just say you're afraid of large breeds instead of calling my dog aggressive. That I could understand because it's logical and fair. An aggressive dog wouldn't have laid on the floor once everyone got off of him. Oh and let's not pretend I wasn't visibly disabled, my foot is in a boot. Now management has dismissed me without cause and is lying about the interactions. We will miss both Dr. Williams and Dr. Smith and hope they get better staff like before.
