This year I needed a new prescription for my dog's July 4th medication. I ordered through Chewy because it was significantly less expensive than purchasing through this vet's online pharmacy. I requested a written prescription by email, and Cathedral Veterinary Hospital sent me an email with the subject line, "Georgia's Written Prescription." The email stated, "This is a friendly notice that Georgia's written prescription(s) are attached to this email," followed only by a note explaining that Chewy shipments can be delayed because they require prescriptions to be mailed, etc. At no point did the email explain that the attached prescription was only a copy or that I would need to pick up a signed, printed prescription from the clinic for it to be valid. I printed the prescription they emailed me and sent it to Chewy. Chewy later notified me that it was not a valid prescription. When I called Chewy, they explained that they needed an original prescription signed by the veterinarian. When I called Cathedral, instead of addressing the issue with the prescription they had already sent, I was immediately asked if I wanted to order through their online pharmacy. I explained that I simply needed the prescription corrected for the order I had already placed. When I expressed my frustration that their email clearly implied the attachment was my dog's written prescription and never mentioned it would be invalid for an outside pharmacy, I was told, "That's why we include the message about delays when you don't order through our pharmacy." That response completely missed the issue. The problem wasn't the shipping delay—it was that they knowingly sent me a prescription that couldn't be used without explaining that it was invalid. The staff member I spoke with, Libby, was dismissive and lacked the level of customer service I would expect. The veterinarian ultimately made a one-time exception and called Chewy directly to authorize the prescription, but I also received a voicemail stating they would not do this again. What upsets me most is that the clinic knew I intended to use Chewy, knew the emailed prescription they provided would not be accepted, and failed to tell me. Because of that, my dog's medication did not arrive in time for the Fourth of July, despite me placing the order well in advance. This entire situation could have been avoided with clear communication. I expect some level of customer service when I just spent $400 on my annual visit this year. I will never be back.

When your pet becomes seriously ill, you quickly learn how much the right veterinary team matters. I truly could not have asked for a better clinic than Cathedral Animal Hospital to help us through one of the hardest experiences of my life. My 14-year-old dog, Love, became suddenly and seriously ill with lymphoma, and from the very first visit, every single person on the team made us feel like Love was their only patient. They never rushed us, always took the time to answer questions, and met every interaction with genuine compassion and kindness. Dr. Alana is, without question, the most patient, attentive, and caring veterinarian I’ve ever had. She checked in on Love often, personally called to see how she was doing, and made sure we felt supported every step of the way. During such an emotional time, that level of care meant more than I can express. Any time I had a concern, the team responded quickly with empathy and reassurance. You can truly feel the love and positive energy throughout the entire practice. I’ve had wonderful experiences at both the Cathedral Animal Hospital and Kenton locations, and I would recommend either without hesitation. If you’re looking for a veterinary team that treats your pet like family and cares just as deeply about the people who love them, this is the place.

Everyone here gives exceptional care. Very knowledgeable. Provides a wide range of options, always reasonable. We've been thrilled with everyone who has seen our two cats. Highly recommend them.
