Our family is so thankful for the amazing, patient, and kind staff at blue pearl. Our dog, Jackie had a severe allergic reaction to a bee sting. Our vet recommended blue pearl and we rushed her there where staff were waiting. They immediately took her back and begin working on stabilizing her. They were very communicative during the process, provided updates, and answered all my questions. Our girl wouldn’t be home with us today if it wasn’t for them. We are eternally grateful. During our wait there were some patrons who were frustrated that their pets had to wait, the thing to understand about Blue Pearl is this is an EMERGENCY vet office. Unless you have an appointment for a specialty you should not come here expecting to be seen in the order you arrived in. Again this is for emergencies!!!!!! The staff was very patient and validated those patrons concerns and reiterated the triage process and that emergent situations would have to take priority. I urge all pet owners to consider this and look into urgent care vets if your pet is unwell and NOT experiencing a medical EMERGENCY. We will always choose blue pearl if we ever have another emergency for one of our pets. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!! And thanks from Jackie who now gets to play with her sister Stevie safe and healthy at home!!!!

We had a great first experience here. We bought our small Pomeranian in around 1:30am and there was only 1 other person in the lobby at the time. We waited less than 30 min to be roomed and the staff were all nice. Darrick Yamaguchi, DVM was our provider and he was very kind and knowledgeable. He took his time explaining our options, his recommendation and didn’t push any expensive imaging on us when he didn’t think it was necessary. Hopefully we won’t have to come back anytime too but it’s good to know there’s a good pet ER nearby.

Do not bring your pets here if you can avoid it. I am writing this after deleting the glowing review I left two years ago. We had a great experience back then, but something has gone drastically wrong with this hospital in the meantime. We brought our cat, Bugsy, in at 11:00 AM on a Saturday for ongoing vomiting and diarrhea. Our regular vet had seen a questionable spot on a Thursday X-ray and advised us to get him checked sooner rather than waiting for his Monday appointment to rule out a blockage. Our vet was hopeful Blue Pearl could perform an ultrasound as well if their X-ray was inconclusive, saving him another stressful visit on Monday. From start to finish, the communication was poor: -The initial vet was rushed and curt, stating immediately that Bugsy had to stay overnight. She claimed they needed to monitor him post-ultrasound or that he might have to wait until Sunday to be scanned. Both she and the staff remained completely vague about timelines. -We were left waiting for updates all Saturday night and finally had to call them ourselves. The same thing happened Sunday morning. After hearing nothing by 11:30 AM, I called again. The tech claimed no one reached out because I had "opted out of texts", which I had not. Even if there had been a system glitch, picking up the phone to call a pet parent waiting on critical news should be standard protocol. -When I called Sunday, I was told Bugsy was "stable" so he was pushed back. Only after pressing the vet tech for a clear timeline did she finally admit that ultrasounds are never done before 3:00 or 4:00 PM!! The admitting doctor on Saturday certainly knew this policy and intentionally withheld it. Realizing they were just keeping him waiting, we went and picked Bugsy up at 1:00 PM on Sunday. He spent an unnecessary 26 hours in a cage, only to receive a single repeat X-ray that ruled out an obstruction. We now bitterly refer to this as Bugsy’s "$3,500 X-ray." Keeping communication intentionally vague felt like a calculated move to keep him admitted, which generated the bulk of our astronomical bill without providing the diagnostic care we came for. While the front desk staff were kind and trying their best, and the second doctor we spoke with showed some empathy, the overall management, pricing, and medical communication were unacceptable. Save your pet the stress and go elsewhere.

Pet emergency's are already stressful enough but from the first phone call to the very last question I had every process with blue pearl was easy. My pet was cared for by everyone on staff that was helping with us and just passing by. When it came to my 1,000,000 questions of finance they clearly explained all of my options and processes and allowed us the time to think through everyone. The staff is very helpful and genuinely care about your pet and their health. Our dog is reactive so sitting in the lobby was a challenge and when we moved outside we still had the issue of him reacting to people and dogs passing by a staff member let us know we could wait in our close and would be called when ready so that we could eliminate the stress on our dog of his triggers. 10/10 experience blue pearl helps take care of the bulk of your worry in an emergency so you can focus on your pet.
